The Gold Dome | OKC
It all begins with an idea.
We’ve know this building for some time and have grown to really love it. Built in the 1960, it is one of the only remaining Kaiser Aluminum geodesic domes still standing. Its original gold anodized finish made it an instant landmark in Oklahoma city. Originally designed as a bank, we’ve been recently engaged to work on converting it into an incredible concert venue. Stay tuned . . .
Ream House
It all begins with an idea.
If we have a type when it comes to residential preservation, it definitely starts with a “R” and ends in an “eam.” After completing the renovation on the amazing Busch house, we had the opportunity to consult on the second of the three houses James Ream designed while he was still in Denver. Sited in the mountains west of Denver, this amazing and iconic house sits in the trees with a light touch on the landscape. It is a wonderful example of how modern architecture can profoundly interact with its landscape when done well.
Wabi-Sabi
It all begins with an idea.
This project seeks to find and reveal tranquility in the urban/industrial edge of Denver. The philosophy of wabi-sabi, or the acceptance of transience and imperfection governed all aspects of this design which started with an incredible site and a previous generation warehouse waiting for its new life.
Formative Office
It all begins with an idea.
We designed a series of these flexible and rapidly demisable offices for a landlord seeking to provide high-end office space to tenants who want to balance collaboration with demised space for their company. Our unique master plan, combined with a specific demountable wall system, allows the landlord to rapidly re-demise the space to accommodate tenants changes in size and thereby keeping the tenants in building longer.
National Center for Atmospheric Research / UCAR | Various Projects
It all begins with an idea.
VEGA has had the honor of designing and completing a variety of project at the incredible Mesa Lab, designed by the great I.M.Pei. With an eye towards preservation, architectural intent, function and science, VEGA has worked on over 9 projects for this prestigious institution in order to keep it maintained and relevant for a new generation of scientists. Our work has ranged from original skylight replacements to auditorium remodels, mechanical improvements to security upgrades.

Summit County Library | Main Branch
It all begins with an idea.
With plans for completion in 2021-2022, VEGA was hired to remodel the Main Branch of the Summit County Library to increase functionality, identity and community engagement. Additionally, we strategically located a new entry to help define the library from the remainder of the County Commons building in which it is located. Interior design by studiotrope design collective.

VEGA was selected to provide BIM management and coordination for an approximately 4 million square foot 5 story distribution center in Colorado Springs.
Natural Grocers National Rollout
It all begins with an idea.
Starting in 2009, Vega architecture led the prototype creation and national rollout for Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage. Over that time, we helped them grow from a handful of local stores through becoming a publicly traded company, to having over 160 stores across 20 states. We developed a process that ran from due diligence through opening that allowed us to develop the projects with unmatched speed and quality, all the while developing unique designs that met the design requirements of the municipality.
Twin Owls
It all begins with an idea.
VEGA was hired to breathe new life into the Twin Owls hotel in Estes Park, CO, and transform it into the perfect spot for young active families to escape into the mountains year around. We sought to preserve its great original architecture while kicking it in the pants a bit to get it up to its full potential.
Summit County | Sand + Salt Shed
It all begins with an idea.
Situated the nook of a relocated road curve in beautiful Summit County, CO, this public works facility was designed to not only provide spacious and functional storage for Summit County and CDOT’s road maintenance needs, but also to artfully address the site and landscape with varying views and topography.
Village Inn
It all begins with an idea.
Simultaneous to our Twin Owls project, VEGA was also tasked to renovate the Village Inn Hotel. Mountain Comfy Funk was the name of the game.
Ori’Zaba’s Scratch Mexican Grill
It all begins with an idea.
Ori’Zaba’s, or “Zaba’s” among the devoted, is a fresh casual restaurant that takes quality to a new level. Without a freezer on site, the incredible chefs at Ori’Zaba’s create amazingly delicious and healthy meals. VEGA was tasked with no only developing a prototype that captured their unique identity in a very competitive market, but to do so in a highly efficient footprint that celebrated the food at every turn. We are excited to see Zaba’s grown and to support them in that effort - at least until they open one near our office.
Warehouse + Industrial Food Production
It all begins with an idea.
VEGA was hired to design a 110,000sf warehouse and industrial food processing facility. This project included SAP linked racking, combustible dust controls, large walk-in refrigeration and freezers and clean room standards, in addition to office and facility space.
Trigate Plaza
It all begins with an idea.
VEGA was retained by Trigate Capital partners to renovate and update the common areas and spec suites for two buildings they recently purchased. The goal was to create a clean, modern and vibrant space that aligned with the identity of their company and their tenants.
Busch House
It all begins with an idea.
We were privileged to have the opportunity to carefully remodel this incredible mid-century modern house in Applewood. Designed in the 60’s by one of Eero Saarinen’s protege’s, James Ream, this house was in a league of its own within other modern houses of its time. Our goal was to continue on the intent that James built into the house in a way that brought it into the current day but did so in an understated and honest way. We were privileged to have it featured in 5280.

Cultura Craft Chocolate
It all begins with an idea.
Cultura Chocolate is an incredible shop that celebrates the Mexican chocolate tradition and creates some of the greatest chocolate we’ve had the honor to try. Our goal was to reflect the culture and care that is taken in every step of this process into the architecture and experience of the space. More carefully sourced and crafted chocolate, you will not find.
