Design that appeals to the arts community is challenging. This redevelopment project called for reimagining the relationship between books, music and film. New construction housed the Twist & Shout music store and Neighborhood Fix, a combined movie theater and restaurant space. The Tattered Cover bookstore moved into the historic Lowenstein Theater. A 220-space garage and future retail space were also included. Result: A vibrant, new arts destination and a revitalized Colfax Avenue in Denver.
